Kalispera!
I'm Giorgio from Athens, Greece. I'm a CNC Manager currently living and working for a company located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I grew-up in a musical family. My older brother played a lot of instruments. He was very talented. My dad played music all the time, so at the age of 9, I got my first electric guitar. That was nice and everything, but I felt it didn't completely express me. At the age of 12, I got my first drum kit and I immediately knew that was the instrument for me. I believe the instrument chooses you, and not the other way around.
I've played a lot of live shows and done various recordings for bands, in the studios.
All my life, I was asked to just sit on the set, and play. Well, now I'd like to learn what's it like to be on the other side of the booth. In the control room with the panels and the mixers. I like all types of music and I like to experiment and push myself to the limits.
PS. Another weird thing is, depending in the country I am living in, I choose different types of music. For example, when I was studying Aircarft Engineering in Brighton, UK I liked to listen to The Cure, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, etc.... In Athens, I listen to rock and alternative tunes like Staind, Seether, Alice in Chains, Linkin Park, Limpbizkit, Creed, Breaking Benjamin, etc... In Saudi, I listen to R&B and Pop, like Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey, J-LO, and a lot of other artists I don't know their names.
I'm looking forward to understand DAWs, equipment, and effects, a bit better.
