PG Music's Band-In-A-Box & RealBand Users

A group for people interested in using, or currently using, PG Music's Band-In-A Box or RealBand in their music making process.

I use the 2014 UltraPlusPak edition of Band-In-A-Box and RealBandto to create backing tracks and practice audio files. I also use Cakewalk Music Creator 6 software digital audio workstation (DAW), Audacity wave editor, Zoom MRS-8 8 track hardware digital workstation, acoustic and electric guitar and a keyboard. Not that great with any of it but enjoy it all.

My primary music interest is in country, rock and easy listening music from the late fifities to early 2000.

hey i uses BIAB... and absolutely love it... its a great learning tool as well as application.... the real style by real players is phenomenal....

I use BIAB 2005. Since I don't play any instrument, I like BIAB because it supplies a melody. Wonder if I should upgrade to a more recent version for this course?

Hi Davebee!

Wow, 2005 BIAB. I can tell you there are too many differences between BIAB 2005 and BIAB 2014 to even try and cover them all. Except for the name of the software program and the 77 midi styles you currently have, everything is different. You will find BIAB to be a completely new experience. Rather than try and tell you about everything that's happened since 2005, may I suggest you visit the PG Music website and see for yourself

After you've had a chance to look at the site I'll be happy to answer any specific question you have.

Hi josna and welcome! I'm sure we'll learn many things in this course that we both will be able to apply when we use BIAB and RealBand. I'm really excited and have been looking forward to this course ever since I first heard about it. As for BIAB and RealBand I agree they are great learning tools. What version of BIAB are you using? Which package?

Just thought I'd check in with you to see how you're progressing with the PWYM course so far. I'm still trying to find all the stuff associated with module 1 and module 2 is already out.
